bnc connectors rgb mod

Post by salolinkpdig8 »

Would you guys usually put 4 or 5 bnc connectors on your tv when you rgb mod, if you were to use bnc connectors.

I always use crt emu driver out of my pc, so I have h sync and v sync, and same with my raspberry pi w/ vga out, so when I rgb mod a tv, I want to put 5 bnc connectors on the tv, and I have them connect inside the tv going through a 1kohm resistor each, and that works perfectly for my needs. But, if a person has a game system and they only have 1 sync, can they still utilize my bnc connectors for sync? Thanks.
crts sure are fun.

I generally run sync to the existing video input (either Composite or S-Video with an adapter to RCA) via a BNC-to-RCA adapter, I don't see a point in adding an additional BNC/RCA jack for sync when this method produces the same results. Then again, I don't use a computer with CRT Emudriver as my input device (and if I did, I would use a sync combiner (like the one in the second video of The 8-bit Guy's mod) before I input the sync into my TV).

Are you using a sync combiner to combine the separate H/V sync signals into CSync to input to the TV's video input or are you injecting the H/V sync signals into the H/V sync pins on the jungle chip (if available)?

I would never "canonize" such a poor sync combination solution by permanently installing it into a TV. Mount jacks for RGBS and if you insist on combining H+V with nothing more than resistors at least do it outside the TV in a reversible way
