Which player?
Black label’s different btw.

I think some are based on a random seed generator, maybe sometimes ship position too.

oh no, another old topic bumping - but hey, too many beers do that to you..

random trivia
http://esprade.hp.infoseek.co.jp/daioujoutop.htm (scroll down to bottom)
if I read that right, up to july 02 (end of the contest), only LAOS managed to beat hibachi, everybody else got slaughtered, so that speaks volume about its diff. also, in the first version (white label) , you couldnt creditfeed after hitting the loopover(this was partly fixed in BL i think), making it even harder (no practice). a few months later, when the Type-A scores were in the 1.4+B range, cloverTac held the B type rec w/ 615M (lower than the 800+ on that page) so again this means only so many TOP players could survive the thing.(as you may know, an all clear with a low score takes precedence over a non-clear high-score).
if you go to the AIVA scorepage, you can see that TWO YEARS later, even those crazy 2+B guys lost three or four lives to HIM....
This opinion has also been stressed by top-ranked players during a number of interviews.
so yea, maybe wikipedia isnt as evil as some cats may think? :o

Yeah, but maybe they should have linked to the corresponding interviews. It was a bit washy the way the editor of the article said it.

LTTP, but I just watched those videos and, well, my brain exploded.

Even as a spectator watching a tool-assisted video (the latter one), my mind couldn't keep track of what was going on.
