DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou vs. Raiden V vs. Sol Cresta
DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou vs. Raiden V vs. Sol Cresta
Probably Sol Cresta for me. Meanwhile, nobody's bothering to translate DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou's story mode...
Re: DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou vs. Raiden V vs. Sol Cresta
Uh, I think your poll is kind of broken since you can choose all 3 options, but Saidaioujou's story isn't anything special from what I remember.
I have not played it for about a year, but it's basically just H̶a̶r̶u̶h̶i̶ Saya complaining about Hibachi for an hour and getting scolded by the operator for some reason or another. Then Hina/Hibachi/Inbachi dies and H̶a̶r̶u̶h̶i̶ Saya is sad or whatever and then the credits roll. That's about it.

I still want a proper translation of SaiDaiOuJou...
Re: DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou vs. Raiden V vs. Sol Cresta
I just played it again and trust me, you are not missing much. Each stage is just Saya talking to Ope-ko about a specific topic, and most of these topics are completely unrelated to the actual story.
It goes something like this:
stage 1 = Saya complaining about Hibachi
stage 2 = Saya talking about her stuffed bear and rabbit
stage 3 = I forgot/could barely hear the dialog over all of the explosions
stage 4 = Saya complaining about her boobs being small and yelling at the pilot/player for looking at her and thinking her boobs are small
stage 5 = I forgot again
stage 6 = I don't know because I game overed on stage 5 because I suck lol
I'll check stages 3 and 6 after I go to sleep since it's late, or maybe after work later today, but trust me, the effort that it takes to translate this game's story is better spent on doing basically anything else except for maybe playing Deep Blue on PC Engine, or perhaps even Action 52.

Actually, the poll's fine. Approvals voting is actually far superior to plurality "pick one and stop" voting. Instead of being forced to pick one you approve of, if you think two of them are equal you can pick two of them, and picking all three if you think they're all equal is also a valid selection.Steven wrote:Uh, I think your poll is kind of broken since you can choose all 3 options, but Saidaioujou's story isn't anything special from what I remember.
The only one I've played is SDOJ, and the game mechanics are pretty fun! I can't speak to the plot, however, and if it's like what Steven described it's probably not worth it. SDOJ's pilot dress up system where you can force your lady of choice to strip for you is already aesthetically kinda icky so it's not a game think of when touting the values of story in a shmup.

I just replayed the game again because fuck sleep and it seems I thought that the Inbachi fight was its own stage for some reason, but it isn't, I guess. I actually almost no missed it for the first time, but I died just before I killed Hibachi. That was surprising; I think this might be my first new 1CC/no miss of the year after a few days of practice, although it's probably not much of an accomplishment. The story really is all over the place, though, especially since it does dumb shit like dedicating the majority of some stages' dialog to talking about Saya's boobs or whatever. I will never be able to unhear Hirano Aya as Haruhi, either, which makes it even more weird.

I thought there were only five stages, not six. And really? She thinks I'm a pervert in Stage 4? I do recall her saying "h*ntai" at one point, so...Steven wrote:I just played it again and trust me, you are not missing much. Yeah, like I said above, I thought Inbachi got her own stage for some reason.xxx1993 wrote:I thought there were only five stages, not six. And really? She thinks I'm a pervert in Stage 4? I always considered the Hibachi and Inbachi fight to be part of Stage 5.
