Any 3DO RGB mod kits currently available anywhere?

Post by deezdrama »

I want to get fixels ODE but want rgb and 240p for connecting to pvms but it seems like nowhere is selling the kit due to part shortage. I know its open source and stumbled across the blank pcb but unsure if I could even find the components.

Anyone have any leads on rgb modding my fz1?

The last I heard a new batch from Retro Gamer Stuff was a possibility.

You might also consider the 3DO HDMI mod.

I don't know how good an option this is going to be though. HDMI output only, but the documentation says it will support 240p output over HDMI and you could then use a DAC to get RGB or YPbPr output. It seems like it has potential to be the superior option.

Man I hope RGS does another run. Ive never looked into or needed to use a dac to go from hdmi to analog rgb so have no clue about this option. $250 for the mod seems unrealistic since I would just need to convert to analog and never use hdmi. Unless theres a ton of benefits running the hdmi kit I just cant justify it. Anyone know how the hdmi>dac>rgb solution would compare to the rgb kit that RGS hopefully makes another run of?

Any links to a dac that would work well with the hdmi option? Any lag with this?
