Is that where that '1' comes from? Yeah, as I've complained before, on the PS2 version the continue button is the same as my autofire button, so I would involuntarily continue nearly every time I played. Of course, I wouldn't actually continue playing. Since then I've managed to get the Saturn version, which I like much, much better.Twiddle wrote:i was bothered by the last digit continue markerprofessor ganson wrote:Are you making fun of my score? expressing disgust?Twiddle wrote: uhh
That's alright, it doesn't bother me. I know my score sucks. What do you expect from under 10 hours of play?

Thanks, crithit. I don't think I've seen the 1-6 boss yet. Rob recently said that this game is a bit long, and I can see what he means. I can't believe there are still three levels to master. And judging from what I saw of 1-6, it may soon get unmanageable for me, with my rather average skills.crithit5000 wrote:Nice one, ganson. I've been stuck on 1-6's boss forever, it seems...
As BER mentioned on Beepreying, this game is somewhat tough due to the fact that the bosses have so many parts, and each part shooting so many patterns that it all just "blends" together. I always had a tough time remembering what part shoots what.professor ganson wrote:Thanks, crithit. I don't think I've seen the 1-6 boss yet. I'll take seven stages in Psikyo games, and five stages in Cave games.

This is definitely the hardest of the 3 strikers (not including plus).professor ganson wrote:Thanks, crithit. I don't think I've seen the 1-6 boss yet. It is possible to get the extend by level 5. You can leach the power-up planes during boss fights. Knock your power down really low at the beginning of a boss. Then as new power-up planes fly in, shoot 2, get hit by one (to drop your power), kill the 3rd and pick up the powerup. Repeat for the entire fight.RealBout c.f. wrote:Yeah, and what it makes it even harder is that you get the extend so late.landshark wrote:This is definitely the hardest of the 3 strikers (not including plus).

It doesn't give a ton of points, but it is significant. The problem is that it gets really difficult to do after 1-2 =)

Please post the link. I never remember the different locations for the different stage numbers. The only one I ever used to get was when it fell on stage 3 - but I even forgot how to do that =)professor ganson wrote:Definitely, and with no continues.1up wrote:I assume these high scores are set with default settings?
Hey, 1up. Do you know about triggering the Gunbird train in the Germany level? This is a nice way to boost your score. If you need a link about this, I can find one.
didnt know about that? I thought people were just referring to the 2 trains that give a lot of powerups (1 powerup + 1 bomb)professor ganson wrote:Definitely, and with no continues.1up wrote:I assume these high scores are set with default settings?

Check out the pics and remarks by mannerbot in the following thread:

where are you at now, and have you managed to trigger the train yet? you know you have to position your fighter above one of the trees and sit on it for a few secs without firing at the neigbouring enemy vehicles.1up wrote:little improvement tonight. beat my hi-score. got to 1-4 without dying and died 2 times at the boss grrr

The problem is the tree is different for each stage number. Does anyone have screenshots of all the positions? I knew the 1-3 position for a while, but then forgot.professor ganson wrote:Check out the pics and remarks by mannerbot in the following thread:

Does the train exist on the 2nd round?
SiKrAiKeN: While I don't think everyone here -is- a Ninja Turtle, I DO believe everyone here has the potential to be a Ninja Turtle. No doubt.
You're in luck. Some info on the old high score thread:

No need. on that web-thread with the screen shots of spitfire hovering above the (stage3 tree). the tree directly below that is for (stage4). the trees for stages1-2 are on the right side virtually parallel. and yeah the train is on the 2nd loop. its just a little harder to skillfully deal with.landshark wrote:The problem is the tree is different for each stage number. No not quite, your a little off target. that same digi pic of spitfire hovering directly above a tree, is STAGE3. the tree neighbouring that is STAGE4. STAGE1-2, well you cant see those two trees on that digi pic because they are cut off on the top right hand corner of the screen which doesnt help matters.landshark wrote:Is this right?
