Hi!
I am trying to connect my GameCube (DOL-001) to my LG OLED 55 BX which only has HDMI inputs. My first attempt was to use a KAICO HDMI Display Adapter (GCVideo) to upscale the signal coming from the Gamecube's digital AV out from 640x520i 50Hz to 720x576p/i 50Hz. Unfortunately the resolution is still too low for the TV to recognize the signal, I guess. When using a Mcbazel HD Video Converter to upscale to 1080p the TV recognizes the signal but the games are unplayable due to a massive input lag coming from the converter. Therefore I imported a pre-owned Extron DSC 301 HD to replace the cheap Mcbazel converter. After setting everything up it appeared that the Extron does not recognize the signal coming from the GameCube/KAICO adapter. I have tested both interlaced and progressive output signals from GCVideo adapter. According to the user manual the Extron should be able to handle an input signal of 576p and I have verified the functionality using other HDMI devices. The Extron works fine, but unfortunately the device keeps telling me no input detected. Do any of you had similar problems? Am I missing something?
My setup
GameCube Digital AV Out -> KAICO HDMI Adapter -> Extron DSC 301 HD -> LG OLED 55 BX
Thank you!!

Any idea? I can't be the only one

No ideas, but I can confirm that the Extron 301HD should be able to handle GCVideo's output. Did you change anything in the Advanced Settings submenu?
I'm actually surprised that your LG TV doesn't accept the signal either, "resolution too low" is not a plausible reason. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a common cause for both the LG and Extron refusing to accept the signal.

Thanks for your response! I bought the device used that's why I did a factory reset. There is no input detected on Input 3. That seems strange since there are many people out there using the Extron DSC 301 HD to upscale their retro console. Re: Extron DSC 301 - No Input Signal from GCVideo/HDMI Adapt
Unfortunately I cannot find any pictures of the Kaico adapter PCB on the net, but there is a chance that they tried to save a few cents by not providing a 5V output on HDMI pin 18 (or that part of the circuit happens to have failed on your copy). In my experience some displays and scalers use it to detect if a source is connected and refuse to recognize any signal if that 5V signal is not present - as far as I know this behaviour is spec-compliant. In my tests a long time ago about half of my devices with HDMI input required the 5V to detect a signal, though I'm not sure which half the Extron is in.
But this is pure conjecture and could be completely wrong.
