that's zuho in action (the original name of the file was indeed doomz, z=zuho(doh))
edit: nice story, btw, esp. the part about certain players keeping some patterns/secrets to themselves, maybe thats one of the reasons the arcadia rec holder for mushi's ultra mode didnt appear on that inh dvd . . . [/speculation]

well, i cant rewatch the vid on this comp, but the wmv file was originally posted on her site and from what i recall its a creditfeed vid (correct me if im wrong), so whether she's good enough to SCC the 2nd round or not is irrelevant. you can fight doom either way.
anyway, gajin, if you have some time can you pls translate the following

the name of -the first game (63.9M) -the third game(91.5), and -the name of the 365M ketusi player (i imagine its imakichi, but i want to make sure)? thx
(for those interested, the game at the bottom is viewpoint, and above its gunbird)

Sure. It's a scored card from Game In Namiki (my first address in Japan is very similar. I believe I was in Matsubara 2-17). Anyways:
The first game is an IGS beat 'em up, which I believe is pronounced Tougenkyou. link 1, and link 2.
The 3rd game is Progear no Arashi.
And yes, the 365 million player is Imakichi.

the vids presented on Zuho's site, was not from her but she just placed them there to share the patern voiding of Doom-Sama, and it was performed by a close friend to her. (I don't remember who)
by the way she can enter the Ura mode of Ketsui, and I must admit it's already incredible
but she didn't clear doom-sama.

hmm, okay, it could be someone else (a friend etc), im not going to argue that
- anyway, im pretty sure the score on the vid is quite low (something like 10M or 70M or whatever), meaning that whoever is playing did use more than one credit (else the score would be much higher) - i just mention this to clarify where that creditfeed comment was coming from (if the score is indeed high, my memory is tricking me). maybe she/he can clear doom.sama, but just not on one coin?
btw, when the vid starts the player has no bombs in stock ,meaning he was pretty much forced to dodge all that crap.
- anway sorry for the rambling/derailing.
lmn4096 - re: cave/doj interview on famitsu - falls du zeit hast, why not simply skip the difficult/confusing mihara parts and just translating what the three players had to say? even if the translation would be inaccurate, quick and dirty,, im sure quite a few ppl here would be interested.
ps. ich hasse die schweiz. hehe. ;D
pps. sorry for all the emoticons.

I remember a thread in Click's board. Something like "Best way to outdodge DOOM" and there I found this vid for the first time. The player probably credit-feed because he only want to practice DOOM. And the way he dodge the most difficult pattern is just awesome...Ko.oS wrote:anyway, im pretty sure the score on the vid is quite low (something like 10M or 70M or whatever), meaning that whoever is playing did use more than one credit (else the score would be much higher)

ciao luna - yea, that thread was started by ber, and the title was actually "new way to blablabla". it included a link to the banana site, altho the file was gone very quickly. myself i got it from plasmo's subfolder at ikaruga.co some 6 months later (in the sense that i wasnt much online between december and may) -, there were four other files too; 2-3URA stagetrip only (the one you mentioned above i guess) 2-5 tsujou halfstage trip, and a doom fight lasting roughly one minute using A-type, less spectacular than the one linked above, but as efficient. none of those vids had sound, and they were in tate orientation. the fourth vid was the well known arika dvd promo thing (the one that got canned). man, that was a long paragraph...

fair enough. the only part i got using babelfish, is were laos says that doj belongs to his favorite type of games, "games of memorization". coming from a puzzlegame expert this has to read as "nothing beats a really good shooter". i think it also says that tac had the role of supervisor (comparing the a-type and b-type player strategies and giving advice) i could be completely wrong tho. its not so important anyway, right?B/c that's most of the interview.

Indeed, I did. I tried to get her (and whomever else) to at least post some scores, but I they're afraid of the whole English thing. I even told them we have several welcomed Italian users that use online translators. Perhaps one day.Icarus wrote:GP, am I right in thinking that in an earlier thread when Zuho was namedropped, you tried to get one or two of her forum regulars to visit us here? Did that ever happen?
Maybe an international forum would work, whever everyone can speak their respective langauge. Honestly most Japanese users are timid (I have a Japanese forum at gamengai, and it gets very little traffic) but it would at least bea nice gesture to the rest of the world.

Ura2-4 Zuho-san ha Gachi.
A play on word of sorts, that I honestly can't explain.
The player above her is named "6 misses on 2-5 is terrible".

I know, it's a shame there's still a huge language barrier seperating both sides of the shmupping community. A totally international shmups forum would be a brilliant thing to be a part of, with players on both sides of the world competing, discussing and strategising together.GaijinPunch wrote:Indeed, I did. If only there was some way of breaking down that barrier...
(The only Japanese player I can remember actively coming to a Western forum and chatting with players was the Mushihimesama player RAM, back when several players - most of them from this forum - were involved in a heavy strategy discussion at Click-Stick's forum. That was a nice moment, discussing strategy with a high-level Japanese player.)

well, "fizz" used to post here every now and then, he wasnt a toplevel player, but still from the land of the rising sun. by the way, ymg-c (scorecard above) used to have an ESP high for a while (40+M, yawn). as for ram, pauls story feat. a ran, wonder if its the same guy...
edit: re strange messages in score-names, if im not mistaken both doj bl and garegga got new records in the latest or 2nd latest arcadia issues, and both players wrote sthing along the lines of "celebration/commemoration" (sorry for jumbled english, but its late)
