Options for recording PS2 footage while using PVM?

I'm playing a 480i game (512x448) on my PS2 on a Sony PVM 2030 that uses a 25-pin D-SUB to SCART (SCART cable is a PS1/PS2 Luma with Lightgun breakout from Retro Access).

I have a Voultar Double Penetration device that allows one to plug in SCART and have it split into additional SCART and DVI-I, allowing me to output to both a PVM and a Datapath.

The issue I have however, is that my Datapath is plugged into a PC in another room. But I have a USB Magewell HDMI Capture on a PC near the PVM. Is it possible to either...

1) Convert the DVI-I to HDMI to plug into the USB HDMI Capture?

2) Convert the DVI-I to DSUB, then use a DSUB to SCART adapter to plug it into a RetroTink 5X Pro, that would then go into the Magewell HDMI?

I bought a DVI-I to HDMI adapter and DVI-I to DSUB adapter to try this, and while the picture displays just fine on my PVM through the additional SCART, I'm getting nothing from the Magewell. Might I be doing something wrong, or is there a better solution for being able to play a PS2 on both PVM and a capture device/RetroTink 5X?

Thanks, I guess I shouldn't be surprised the solution would be incredibly pricey. May have to abandon the idea for now and just play and record through the RetroTink 5X Pro.

Out of curiosity, is there a big quality difference between SCART and Component for PS2 480i games?

the difference between SCART and component is somewhere between negligible and non perceptible. So I think you'll be fine with the 5x

The output signal on your Scart/DVI Splitter remains analogue - that's why the HDMI dongle doesn't work.

You can adapt from the analogue DVI-I output to VGA though and use a Retrotink to record it.

You could use a DVI-A to VGA cable and put a VGA to HDMI in front of the HDMI capture card. You could also use a DVI-A to VGA adapter and then use a passive VGA to SCART cable (like one made for MiSTER) and send that to your RT5X and just use that as your digitizer
