I was casually browsing the USA region Apple Store site today (10-14-2016) to see if anything new was available to d/l & lo behold a new shmup app appeared by the name of "Bullet Hell Monday". Upon clicking on it to learn more about it, it turns out that it's a brand danmaku-type of shmup with a really silky-smooth arcade-spec 60fps framerate & has that cool Kento Cho visual vibe going on. This new shmup is from the same guy whom made the previous released .decluster & .decluster zero iOS shmups. Overall, it's a mere 81.6mb d/l when installed on a iOS device.
By default, you have only one life and can buy a second 1up for 300 AP points in the shop between stages -- the third 1up will set you back at a whopping 1500 AP points! So by trying clear each stage via "1 Life Clear" is the main name of the game (and for bragging rights as well).
BHM has leaderboard support so you can post your best score online for all to see.
If you die, you have the opportunity to select your free gift to maximize your ship, weaponry & bomb attributes via a shop shown/accessible between stages. How cool is that? The only catch is you have watch an ad from beginning to end to finally receive your gift to upgrade the fightercraft (a minor quibble at best). However, if Wi-Fi and/or 3G/4G LTE cellular service is turned off on said iOS device, you won't be able to collect your free gift -- so naturally, you'd want that functionality turned on to collect it properly. Easy as pie.
You can buy upgraded weaponry to use with your fightercraft using real money but it won't set you back more than $1.98 USD at the most or you can save your hard-earned "AP points" & unlock them eventually. Hint: you can replay any cleared stage to earn extra AP points added to your current AP points bank the easy way to buy the more expensive attributes listed in the shop later on. As more chapters & stages are unlocked by the player, more attributes appear in the shop for you to use at your disposal.
At random, you'll be given 500 AP points as a thank you for playing BHM -- definitely a cool perk/bonus right there.
It appears that this shmup app has built-in support for iOS gamepad/joystick setup via Bluetooth but am not sure how to go about unlocking it though. I'll see if BHM supports the awesome Hori iOS gamepad (the 2nd variant version currently out at retail worldwide).
-------------------------
It's a resounding yes that MiFi controller support from the get-go works quite well & without a hitch. Using an iOS gamepad makes for a solid console-like shmup experience with this new fangled shmup known as BHM -- just turn on Bluetooth functionality to pair up a gamepad & you're good to go "controller-wise". There's no need to deal with touch screen playability issues if that's not your thing when it comes to playing a serious shmup session on the iOS platform with BHM & it has it in spades.
-------------------------
Upon unlocking Chapter 2 for the 1st time, a new mode called Challenge appears & is unlocked as well. There are 10 stages to unlock per chapter.
As it stands, BHM is at version 1.0.1 currently and runs without any problems on iOS 9.3.5 firmware. BHM has support for high-res displays & works like a charm without any slowdown if turned on via menu selection screen on a 2014 released mini iPad 2 with Retina Display setup. A message will pop up saying if this option is turned on, slowdown may occur at the expense of higher resolution (but your mileage may vary depending on what iOS device that BHM is running on). That's to be expected though in this day of age (especially with older iOS devices).
If you have the optional Apple HDMI or VGA adapter for an iPad setup (either the older 30-pin interface or the newer Lightning interface version), playing BHM is even better on a bigger HDTV screen setup for maximum visual punch indeed + combined with an iOS gamepad = priceless. Be prepared to be stoked/blown away in going this route. This BHM shmup app is ace in my book and earns two thumbs up.

I'm stuck with iOS7 on my iPad so sorry, maybe one day...
Re: New iOS shmup, Bullet Hell Monday, for your perusal...

Is that all ?!?
So I got to make things clear : Bullet Hell Monday is one of the best shmups I've played on iOS !!!
(especially if you compare with, let's say, DDP Unlimited...

The game is MASSIVE, with many many things to do, huge possibilities for scoring, great "move your ass" music, and fun as much as you can take !
It's been updated today (it was great even before) with new ships, survival mode, etc...
YOU GOT TO GIVE IT A TRY !!! I'm sure Masayuki Ito is THE name to remember in the next few years. (Creator of the .Declusters you may have heard of...)
Or at least, give it a look :

(not me playing, a BIG score on the first level, seems 30 more millions are possible)

Seems it's been ported to Android a while ago!

At this rate, I won’t be interested into shmups anymore. I am no longer going to be active in this forum from now on. I am more interested into Kemono Friends, rhythm games, D4DJ, Puzzle Games, Hololive, and Pretty Cure.

I put a good amount of time into this, had a few fully upgraded ships, but then lost all my progress when I switched phones. Not doing that again. My tolerance for freemium grinds is very low.

I've been playing this game on Android for a little while now (since it's release) and I've gotta say that this is one of the better mobile stg's out there. I usually don't do a lot of gaming (stg or otherwise) on phones. I try but the enjoyment never lasts once I start realizing the shortcomings. However, this one manages to keep me coming back. While I know mobile shooters often get a bum rap, I think a lot of folks here might dig this one.
Mobile shooting done right. Glad to finally have a decent game on the go.
(Now I'm off to try AKA to Blue to see how that can keep me just as engaged)
