4K / 1440P - Lag testers?

Post by sofakng »

I have a Time Sleuth (actually two, haha) and an older Leo Bodnar (1080p) lag tester but I'm looking for something that can test 4K (2160p) and 1440p.

It looks like Leo Bodnar sells one but it's quite expensive.

Are there any other options?

The piLag pro is a newer lag tester that does 4k: https://alantechreview.blogspot.com/202 ... -page.html .

I own one and I really like the features of it. It's a little DIY, but the software is chock full of options and works very well with the hardware.

You do also need a Raspberry Pi 4 as well. Unfortunately, with the current chip shortages, they don't stay in stock (like anywhere.) You can track current stock amongst all vendors at this site: https://rpilocator.com/ .

The alternative is to get Raspberry Pi 400, which is a keyboard with the Pi 4 inside. You should be able to find them in stock somewhere. That's what I went with, but it is more expensive.

While inconvenient, I add a upscaler machine to the chain with known latency. Although, you'll have a lot of work to do if you wanted to prove/explain your method and post the results.
