I went ahead and ordered one of these GBSC units.
I am using the component-in on my GBSC with my PS2...
Can i use a HD Retrovision Wii component cable + this adapter with the VGA-in port on my GBSC unit ?
Can i connect both my PS2 and Wii to my GBSC unit the way i mentioned above and only use one console at a time ?
Can I have two sources connected to my GBSC ?

Re: Can I have two sources connected to my GBSC ?
You cannot feed ypbpr into the vga input. The vga input accepts rgbhv and rgbs only. These adapters just route signal, they dont actually do any transcoding.
That makes your second question moot. But, for academic purposes, I believe connecting two or more source devices simultaneously, even if only one is powered on, will cause image degradation.
Your best bet, if I'm understanding what you want to achieve, is to get a 2 port ypbpr switch - 2 in-1 out.

Thanks for your reply,
1. Do component switches degrade the signal ?
2. Should i buy a passive or an active switcher ?
3. Does it matter which switcher i choose ?

Re: Can I have two sources connected to my GBSC ?
1. Depends on design and quality of components used by a specific switch, but there are other factors that can degrade the signal, for example bad cables or a bad power supply.Legi0n wrote:Thanks for your reply,

2. From my personal experience I will say go for an active switcher.
3. Yes it matters, for the reasons above in answer 1.
