While watching some arcade gameplay of Sexy Parodius I was pretty quick to notice that the music sounded quite different most differences were mainly in Eagle Sabu's theme and Candy Core's theme. The PS1 and Sega Saturn verisons music in compariosn the music sounded much better compared to the arcade original it was even further confirmed by listiening to the arcade versions soundtrack.
Not sure if most people are aware of this change in music but thought i would talk about it anyways as i find it interesting of a difference. and if anyone knows why the change in music i would like to know it possible because the saturn and ps1 had far better music capabilites though.
Sexy Parodius Music differences?
Re: Sexy Parodius Music differences?
I never noticed that. Are they different tracks, or is it just a sound quality issue (or details like how loud different instruments play in the mix)? When you are saying "arcade original", are you talking about what it actually sounds like in the arcade game, or is the conclusion based on mame emulation?
IIRC it's one of the Konami PCBs with stereo support, so that can definitely play a role in how some tracks sound as well.

It seems to be a use of different instruments and sounds in the arcade versions music rather than a sound quality issue oddly enough nearly almost every song sounds quite different compared to PS1/SSSumez wrote:I never noticed that. At first i thought it was a mame only thing however i had also listened to an Arcade rip of Sexy Parodius Soundtrack and it had sounded the same as the mame gameplay however there is hardly any pcb footage of sexy parodius so i am not entirely sure but i still found it to be an odd change.
