LMAO!

I'd have to say E.S.P. collection:

ESP Ra.De.
ESP Galuda
ESP Galuda II
It would be bombastic. For DC too if possible :D Even japanese it wouldn't matter.

Anyway, I voted for DDP collection. It would be great to have all three in one game. I'd buy it jap as well.
Alas, Ikaruga is going...

Undesired, unwanted them...
What makes them go?

You know what, Fenrir, it *would* be great that DonPachi, DoDonPachi, and DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou be included in a single whole collection indeed, filled with extras, original artworks, and much fascinating history as AWESOME additions!!! And that is why I in the first place included it in this poll, after all. Look, I am with you on that, man!!

Also, the reason why I did not include DoDonPachi II in this poll (much less as part of the DonPachi Collection, too) is because that game there was originally developed by IGS, not Cave. I think that while DoDonPachi II looks good on the surface and so does the music and sounds, the overall result is like if you want to create a DoDonPachi game and you do not have any new and original material to make every ounce as successful as its predecessor, plug into the original DoDonPachi and borrow ALL the material you can!! Yep, that’s what it’s like, which was why IGS eventually ended up butchering the series for perhaps LOTS of fans ( :x ), and please see the review right here to find out why! That was in 2001, until the *very* next year, Cave sprang back into being themselves and saved the series with a rather difficult yet awesome breath of fresh air called DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou, which brought us finally back to its original roots!! Man!!! :D !

And as for that other compilation idea of mine with ESP Ra.De., Dangun Feveron, Guwange, and Progear that I just told you about on my last post, I believe that if this compilation were to get released anywhere at all, then hey, all the games need to be all-out faithful and real to the originals right down to the very bone, and I mean totally unbutchered at all in every way!!! ;) And that reminds me well enough that I have to agree 100% with ghibli99 on that last reply which wrote:
I don't care about any of the ones that have been released for home in Japan, since I've purchase those already (and most shmup-heads have, too). Give me a colletion that includes Esprade, Guwange, Dangun Feveron, Ketsui, and Progear. *That* would make me one happy gamer. C'mon, Taito... work with Cave to make this happen. I'm sick and tired of seeing the umpteenth rerelease of Strikers...
Rather well said, ghibli99!! :D=b (I am giving it thumbs up here!) Rather well said indeed, since the Strikers series has turned out to be so needlessly repetitive as such a tired retread these days (especially with the same exact way with how the bosses are damaged and destroyed, how painful!).

Is this the thread where we post our unrealistic dreams again?

I've only played ESP Galuda, Mushi, and the DDP series, but I'd like to see DDP make it to the US. Ketsui doesn't look too bad either.

ESP series or Mushi + US audience = "OMFG WORST GAME EVAR BECAUSE JUDGING GAMES BY GRAPHICS IS TEH KOOLZ0RZ."

Go have your eyes checked. And your head too. I mean RIGHT NOW.
2D games can hardly look better than Guwange. Some things are opinions, other things are HARD FACTS.

Indeedly-deedlydo. But if you include *facts* and not opinions, I'd say Progear walks next to Guwange in terms of sheer 2D graphics.

XS wanted to port a Cave game to the US ps2 but SCEA refused. There was a thread about it back when XS had a forum. It's a well known fact SCEA hates 2d games. Maybe after the PS3 launches SCEA will be a bit more lax about what games they allow to market for the PS2 in America but I'm not holding my breath.

Even if it is one of the best looking 2D games by graphics power through my eyes it isn't like that at all. The sprites look like they are about to break apart any minute and they are a bit muddy. I like DDP's smoother and cleaner look. I'm forming my opinions from what I've seen by playing the games on MAME if that makes any difference.

The only game I ever recall XS saying outright that it had been refused by SCEA was Psyvariar. I remember reading on XS's sight that they had been interested in DDP:DOJ, but there never were any solid plans for a release.

If anything, with the impending release of the PS3, SCEA will no doubt become lax on what they allow to be released in the US (exactly the same thing that happened in the final days of the US PS1). And given the fact that Taito have managed to release a budget version of Mushihime-sama in Japan, I'd say that out of the current Cave homeports, that has the greatest chance of seeing a US release.

Any of the currently unported Cave games are completely out of question.

That's weak. I'd much rather see that than one of Cave's releases hit stateside. Well, maybe ESPGaluda but... it's much more exciting imagining Atlus doing previously unported stuff like some kind of ESPRa.De./Guwange pack for Japanese domestic market release. However unlikely either event is.

I wonder if there's any chance for a re-evaluation of bringing Psyvariar Complete over now? I mean, if Shikigami 1 was do-able, however butchered...

I think all remaining shmup developers should band together and release a new console, which would come with a 25inch rotatable monitor and an arcade stick.

The same hardware would also be released as a platform in the arcades, in a similar manner to the Naomi/DC combo.

From then on, those developers would make shooters exclusively for their new console/arcade combo, which would be Japan-only but import friendly (by cutting special deals with EU and US importers, that allow them to sell the console/monitor combo and games at a decent price).

It would also provide penis enlargment and viagra pills.

Etc etc. Cool, huh?

edit: this is the spam thread, no?
