AVE - 24,565,440 - A-L - Area 1-5 - Max Hit 176

wow embarassing Max Hit, i usually get already a 185-combo in stage 1 :o

whatever, a new record for me. Seems like playing the Saturn Mode (where my highscore is 35m) for quite some time was good for my skills ^O^

Thank you very much! ;)

I'm very sorry for the stage 4 boss: 2 lives and the multiplier lost like an idiot!

Nice job IlMrm, you bested my score as well as made it to the 2nd loop! I've been meaning to beak out this PCB and start playing it again...now I have a reason. :D

Thanks. I asked Bernard at the shmupmeet if there was another boss or any other surprise after the area 6 boss in the first round. My problem was getting to 30 million for the second extend, and many times it would be game over at the area six boss in the high 20 millions. This time, I got to the area six boss with a couple of lives in stock, so I laser-bomb it to death. I read on Bernard's site the requirements to get to the second round, but I forgot what they were, and somehow I got there.

I just want to clear the first round before the school suddenly take away the game, as they always do with the shmups.

Finally made it to the second loop with the >50M requirement! I nobomb nomiss'ed up to the end of stage 4 when all hell broke loose because I was way behind on killing stuff quickly. Finished 1st loop with 52M and 2 ships in stock.

Hey guys, I'm new around here; thought I'd make my first post in the highscore thread of my favourite game

Galdur - 48,667,070 - A-L - 2-3 - Max Hit 345

I gotta learn how to chain better, especially the later stages. I'll keep at it!

Funny... I gave up on chaining this run, because I was getting really sick of restarting. I lasted longer and ended up with a higher score.

I survived a lot of the parts where I die idiotically, but still had some stupid deaths that I could've easily avoided...

Finally finished the 1st loop, but I don't think I'll ever get to the 2nd loop... Also, I used too much bombs in the two last stages, they prevented me from chaining.

I'll try to get a better score.

By the way, I wonder if there is as much slowdown in the real PCB as in the MAME rom. I recall reading somewhere on the internet that the slowdown in DDP was intentional, but I highly doubt it. Anyone playing on a real arcade machine could tell?

I've seen with my eyes BR1 beat his mame score playing on a PCB. Therefore my suggestion is: just play, don't care about anything else.

Depends on the version of MAME that you use, first the game was too slow, and now its slightly too fast, the same can be said with other games on MAME too..

I know I can beat this though. It seems so much less intimidating after playing a lot of Dragon Blaze.

As discussed in that other thread in the main section, there can even be slowdown differences between boards. I bought a second DDP board and its much faster, just as fast as current mame! No joke. I'm trying to get back to my highscore now on this board (practicing in mame).

So bottom line, practice in mame, and you are good to go.

So how come BR1 has not posted his new score?

BR1 is already first in this board. I don't see this great urgency to post a new record.
We in AEX Shooting Team don't play to take the lead in everyboard, we play for fun. And BR1 is an extremist of this philosophy

(anyway, I was together with LUN and with other 5 guys when BR1 scored 130 millions)
