Dangun Feveron review added

Post by Frederik »

I just wrote a lengthy review of Dangun Feveron in the review section, I just wanted you to notice, and maybe give a little feedback, as well as starting a bit of a small-talk about this great Cave game.

Oh, and besides, write more reviews! This one is my second one and no one wrote another one between. :!:

Cool, it's been a while since a review was posted!

Here's hoping that Cave someday releases a compilation that includes Dangun Feveron! I don't have the space for a cab, and I find the game to be unplayably fast on MAME.

Really? I heard that people complained about the speed. What version do you have? I run it in 0.99b (the plain standard command line MAME) and it doesn`t look any faster than in the superplays I`ve seen so far. Someone said some MAME versions had problems with the WAIT state. Maybe it depends on the MAME release. On the other hand, the game IS fast :o

I have no problems playing it in MAME.

I'm using MAME 32 v.95.

I can't seem to get the fine movement out of DF that I've been able to get out of every other game I've played on this version of MAME. Consequently, I find it frustratingly difficult to deal with the patterns which scream across the screen at what seems to be like 6-8 pulses per second, with no perceptible slowdown, ever. :x

great review, i think you captured the essence of dangun well. another thing i love about dangun, apart from the hectic heartrate speed of everything, is the late toaplan look of the graphics. certainly the most underrated cave shooter by far.
i'll have to get back to dangun and 1CC it some day..
you're welcome to post in my hi-score thread btw

Well, thank you :)

Yeah, graphic-wise this game reminds me a lot of Toaplan, especially Truxton . Sadly I won`t be able to pratice it a lot since I have a lot of work to do for my studying.

@sffan: It should be the first review on the list. :?:

Aw man, I think the music is one of the *best* parts of that game! Certainly that Stage 2 music is solid gold. ;)

HELL YeA - I CRANK this puppy up with my PC speakers on MAME. I crank it so loud it rattles the walls. Love it! :D

Okay I got it now. It doesn't come up when I click the "Review Archive" button on the main page. I have to go "Shmups Forum" >> "Reviews" to get it.
