Interesting Site, This.

So I was curious to find out if any gamers made the Guinness Book of World Records and the name of this website popped up.

These guys apparently wrote the rules on "professional" gaming and apparently wrote a book back in '96 detailing the Records back then. Has anyone read this, or seen it as listed somewhere?

Guinness recognizes them, so it must be legit.

Yup, I've got the "Twin Galaxies Official Video Game & Pinball Book of World Records", published in 1998. It's basically got a history of the Twin Galaxies arcade, the history of the US video game team, a bunch of high scores, and rules for getting yourself in the book.

The biggest problem with it is that lots of games are categorized for the wrong system or have the wrong title. It covers a bunch of systems, but it's really only good for arcade scores, and even there it mostly concentrates on early 80's games.

twingalaxies used to have a great tekken tag page, with a huge detailed article about the TTT scene and many videos of the best players in the world (and tekken tag was actually very interesting to watch at high level, unlike tekken 4 or soulcalibur 2, fortunately tekken 5 seems fine for now, too)
then the page went down, and now it seems it isnt on the site anymore, either that or i havent looked hard enough.

Maybe they should update the site with some more recent Shmup Vids or something along those lines. If we could get them to, that is.

That would be pretty interesting.
