Just picked up S1U on PS4 on sale, and I remember playing this back in the day on the PC. Glad I returned to it, because it's a fun little mechanic. Expanding for larger shield radius, and contracting for when the bullets get too hectic. Also the trophies aren't crazy hard, which is another plus.
