Dreamcast games that Rotate Vertically

Post by Truz »

Hello I am new here and have a quick question. My DC is setup on a 17 inch pc monitor rotated vertically right now to play Ikaruga. It is pretty much a dedicated setup as it is an old pc monitor i had laying around. Now i was wondering if there is a list of games out there that allow you to rotate the screen vertically. I searched the forums and got mention of a handful of games that do this but there is no real definitive list. Could someone help me out here and give me a list of DC games that allow for rotation for vertical play.

Twinkle Star Sprites has a Bust-A-Move type setup, so no it's not tateable.

Gunbird 2 is tateable, but it doesn't work too well on VGA. Actually, pretty much not at all.

The 3 games I listed all have tate and support VGA (I've tried them myself) - when I comes down to other games I would recommend Zero Gunner 2 and Border Down. They're not vertical but they both sure look beutiful on a VGA-monitor.

Border Down won't work on a VGA monitor... at least I haven't been able to get it working :\

I know this doesn't help you, but Border Down works fine for me in VGA.

yeah, iatneH - are you playing a original copy on a jpn-system? I have that and a cheap $9USD VGA-adapter I bought from Lik-sang and Border Down both plays and looks beutiful on that.

I've only ever played Border Down on VGA.

If non-tateable games are going to be recommended, Mars Matrix has to be at the top of the list.

afaik, Gunbird 2´s VGA-incompatibility can be overcome by using a DC-X. At least that´s a feature of the DC-X, not 100% sure whether it works with Gunbird 2, too.

I don't know about that, I highly doubt it though. Being that Gunbird 2 doesn't support VGA, you have to trick it into VGA mode. After that, not only does the game look horrible, the slowdown is so atrocious that it's unplayable.

Then again I've never used a DC-X so maybe. :P
