It's a CD...eastyy, do you own any other "blue disc" games? Those tend to make more noise than "silver disc" ones...

Install a hard drive in your PS2 the you don't have to worry about drive noises.

Didn't realize this was possible - do you have a link or something you could share? I might think about doing that for mine, since I have a couple spare hard drives laying around.

Not that easy, unfortunately - you gotta use the official PS2 HDD.

The PS2 is actually compatible with a majority of drives out there. Here is the known list.

I have a Shiki question as well, which I may as well chuck in here:

Does anyone know what happened to the cutscenes in the UK PAL release? They are entirely absent from the copy I own. Is this just a dodgy copy or were they completely ripped out for the UK? It seems a shame, as lines like "I hate activities" are my idea of damn fine dialogue.

Yeah they have been cut from the UK version as well as the 50hrz option. I think it's because they could not be bothered translating all the storyline text in to all the differnt europian languages which to be fair I can understand why since there is a lot of text in this game.

Sorry about the late reply

did try my psyvariar 2 blue disk that works fine no problems make no loud noises at all

The game disk looks fine not warped or scratched or anything and it will load

But sometimes it seems to take a long time to load as the noise gets worse

Could be a dodgey copy that sends the lens all over the place. Saying that you should really try and get yourself a copy of the american version since that has all the dialouge in it still and of course it's in 60hrz! :)

Is this some sort of EU thing, or are you suggesting that they didn't want to assume the cost of translating it from American to English?
