I want to keep the stock-PCB for wired USB use, and install a WIRELESS xbox 360 pad hack to it. How can I do this? I've done padhacks before but always by themselves, NEVER with another PCB.
I was going to grab the buttons + stick signals for the padhack from the stock-PCB. Just flip it over and where the wiring harnesses for those are just solder a full set of wires to those pads, and run to the 360 padhack PCB - done... I'll just be sure to never power both on at the same time of course.
BUT, I was told 2x issues might prevent this from working:
- 1.) Even if they're never powered on at the same time, and share NO power lines (since one is wired 5v USB and the other is wireless and running of 2x AA's), and thus would ONLY 'share' button and stick wires, that there could still be enough low voltage through the buttons/stick wires themselves to power the PCB that's not being used, which could cause the one I'm using at the time to malfunction.
- 2.) The Atrox has SEPARATE ground wires for everything. 360 Padhack has 2x shared grounds (one for 10x buttons, one for stick). If I merge the ground wires on the padhack side will that mess-up the stock PCB then? (fyi I need to confirm the Atrox isn't common ground on the PCB itself - if it is that'll make this easier I think)
People have recommended putting in switch(es) ONLY for the ground so I can then flip a switch and go from one board to the other, and with no ground they can't interfere with each other in theory... but that might not work if the stock-pcb truly is using all individual grounds.
Others mentioned using SPDT (single pole, double throw) switches - but versions with like 6x poles on them – to switch between the PCB's... but I don't see a way to actually manage all those wires NEATLY (which is important to me... at least quasi-non rats-nest). Even with shared ground I'm looking at a minimum of 14x wires - so 3x 6-pole switches... IF they're common ground that is... otherwise 25 wires 5x switches...

Here's the Atrox PCB:

Seems to be an actual full extra header (for the 8x buttons at least) on the top right too? Moot point if connecting the padhack directly to the stock-PCB is a no-go to begin with though... (WOULD be way easier if I can though... you guys let me know please!).
So I'm open to any ideas. This is my one nicer fightstick I own (others were like $40 Craigslist finds) so I want to do it right. Already ordered Seimitsu Nobi stick and other fancy stuff to put into it...
