Hi Ed, 'Skykid the Sexy' and BPzeBanshee :D

I hope guys you have all been well :)

Yes, it's the same pcb that shmups forum asked me to have dumped, and I hope it was of some use, even if nothing other than a cool novelty for the guys who presumably decided to do a rom swap on their boards.

Initially the listing was intended to have a buy it now of $9999 (or best offer) and be a piss take at the guys (we don't need to name names lol) who have absurd asking prices for pcbs.

The problem was that I have never sold anything on ebay.com (US) and the layout when doing so drove me borderline batshit. There were a ton of things it was asking me to fill out which I hadn't allowed time for. I'm not sure if this happened because we are in Australia.

Long story short the ebay page I was on wouldn't allow me to run a buy it now with best offer and would only accept an auction with a start to end gap of at least 20%. By this time I'd had enough and simply keyed in a random $599/$999 and was happy enough that the ebay page accepted everything so I could amend it at a later stage. I will address the issue and take better photos when I list some other things on ebay in a week or so, but until then it will remain something that we can all piss and moan about.

Not that it means anything, but if I was asked what I think the pcb is *really* worth, I would hazard a guess that the right person might gladly pay 300 USD plus shipping. Whether that person sees that it's up for sale is of course an entirely different matter though. Also, to clarify, the pic with the bubble wrap was one of many the dumper took for the m.a.m.e. archives when he came over to our home to do the rom dump. He emailed about a dozen of them to both myself and my partner.

I always knew that dumping the thing could potentially devalue its worth (again, to the right person), but you asked, so how could I resist? :D

Anyway, I hope everyone's been well. I really should make an effort to check in more often :)

I think the main suspicion here was that someone pinched your pictures and just rebranded the ROMs or something. Good to hear it's actually you! :)

But I do wonder why you chose to go with eBay's United States site rather than Australia's? Sounds like half the problems you had was with that alone, and unlike old eBay I believe they do cross-post search results now so someone with a United States eBay account can go and find yours looking for said game so availability shouldn't be an issue.

Yep, I get the pic thing entirely and you have made a great point about using ebay.au... I had been buying so much stuff for my partner from ebay.com that I was in the habit of using that site. I 'll give ours a go and offer worldwide shipping. I'll also do the right thing and post it for sale here first later tonight when I have time :D

heh, yeah, it might be a rare revision, but probably not different enough to warrant anything beyond the usual asking price...

that said, the PCB price market is being abused quite badly at the moment, your very own system11 had a rant about it on his blog ( http://blog.system11.org/?p=1174 ) but we've also seen similar weird and unexpected prices in Japan (a Japanese Data East Gun Ball selling for $1400 for example, the one that was dumped for MAME a few years back cost 25Euros - no idea why the price of that one has shot up, even the World version is trading at absurd prices when a few years ago it was a common board costing almost nothing, seems like some artificial inflation caused by others inflating their prices and people being silly enough to pay them)

Fascinating to see this rare Raiden Fighters Licencee Tuning PCB appear for sale despite the "higher than average" asking pricetag...I've already have an original JPN region RF SP1 cart in my arcade PCB stash already. But this version seems rather interesting as it's one-of-a-kind RF SP1 cart as it stands. Sure, I've seen various country region RF SP1 carts for sale over the years listed on eBay -- this particular one "takes the cake".

Still have that bootlegged JPN version of Batsugun PCB (huge PCB monster compared to the original Toaplan version PCB of the same name) that hasn't been Rom dumped yet.

Is it one of those ones with the terrible M6295 (AD-65) looped samples for music, and some of the glitches that old MAME versions had because they didn't do a good job of copying the video chip either? ;-)

In which case, yeah, get it dumped, they're crappy boots, but do need documenting / dumping, somebody contacted me saying they have a Sexy Parodius of the same low quality too that they need to get around to dumping.

Rise from your grave!

I did open my Raiden Fighters because it looked different (sticker was wrong side, only 4 screws) and found this;

It this a common thing with the Gun Dogs chips?

Please put the picture on an actual image hosting site and not another forum that requires account creation/signin to see it. You'll be more likely to get a proper response that way.

The Gun Dogs MASK ROMs are normal.

Please dump the EPROMs to check if you have an an alternate version.
