MSX.ORG posted a news bit that theres a new game developer called Compile Heart. Possibly established by former Compile employees. Their logo definitely resembles the familiar Compile logo too. Hope this means more Zanac/Aleste type games will be in the works.
On their webpage it says that Compile Heart was founded on 2 June by Idea Factory Inc (of Shibuya, Tokyo), the president of Compile Heart is Yoshiaki Sato; they will be developing home video games. The website says something about light layer game software (ライト層に向けたゲームソフト); I have no idea what they mean by that. There is no information on any of their pages if they are at all related to the old Compile, and there is no specific information on what games they will develop. It says they are preparing a lineup now, which will be announced at www.compileheart.com
Besides, didn't Compile sell off most if not all of its IPs? All I know for certain is Sega owning Puyo Puyo, but I'd imagine others have to have been sold after the backruptcy filing?
Yeah, like it says on msx.org, pretty much everyting of value was sold when Compile went out of business. They'd have to re-invent everything. Well, let's wait and see. I wouldn't hold my breath, though.
