CRU (Custom Resolution Unit) not working with intel hd grafx

Post by spikespiegel »

I have a pc with a nvidia card and intel hd graphics, my dedicaded graphics card does not have any vga ouput, so I'm using my motherboard vga ouput (intel hd graphics) to connect to a tv that I've rgb modded, I've used CRU (Custom Resolution Unit) to change the signal frequency, image size, vsync, back porch, etcetera, the problem is that, although I'm being able to see the image, the image is multiplied and moving up fast, as shown in this video:

These are the settings I've tried. I've even lowered the resolution:

The TV is a TC-29FX32L

You need to purchase an AMD HD 4000 or 5000 series low end card with DVI-I or VGA out. You can still get them cheap on Ebay. Compatibility with any other GPUs will be problematic at best.

Can I use an old Nvidia card like a Geforce 9800 GT?

Best advice then is to find your self an AMD 5450 w/ VGA or DVI out that you can adapt to VGA. As I said before, these old AMD/ATI GPUs play better than anything else with 15kHz via programs like CRU and CRTEmuDriver/GroovyMAME, and RetroArch.

I've tested with my old nvidia and it worked. Problem is that my power supply does not have another cable for vga, so for now my only chances are to keep trying with the intel HD graphics.

Once again, you can not do it with Intel HD Graphics. If you absolutely can’t make room in your PC for an old AMD Radeon 5450, your next best option would be GBS Control, which is going to cost you more (a GBS 8200 alone, without the additional boards for the CFW, is at least $20 USD shipped; Radeon 5450 can be found for $15 USD shipped).
