So I have an unopened Neo Geo AES in good cosmetic condition. Model number NEO-0, serial number 095320. Is there a way to know the AES board revision without opening it? perhaps by looking at certain chips when opening the cartridge slot doors?
Thank you in advance for your time.

I'm pretty sure if you search around a little there is a timeline breakdown of serial numbers.

AES serials are mega-unreliable. Case swap galore.bigbadboaz wrote:I'm pretty sure if you search around a little there is a timeline breakdown of serial numbers.

I don't remember if it's possible to see the revision number (4 in the pic below) through the cart slot cutout. If it's not, you can have an indication by looking at a few details: If the resistor near the lower right screw of the cart slot is 3.9K, it's a 3-6 (last revision). If it's 4.7K, it can be a 3-3, 3-4 or 3-5. No resistor is the first version of the motherboard (NEO AES). If the trace from the right side of the resistor stops where indicated by the arrow, it's a 3-4 or 3-5. If it goes further it's a 3-3.
