SNES Voultar RGB Bypass Board - Undoing the brightness fix

Post by Tiki »

Hi, I'm pretty new to console modification and have very basic soldering skills and little to no knowledge about what the h*ck I'm actually doing conceptually, but I'm generally good at following directions. I successfully installed Voultar's RGB bypass kit in my 1CHIP-02 SNES, and I love the jailbar reduction and picture clarity. However, I'm finding that I actually prefer the 'washed out' look of the pre-mod 1CHIP. From what I understand, the brightness mod is just a 750ohm resistor on the R, G, and B pins. Is there a way to easily remove the components that contribute to brightness reduction on Voultar's board?

Also, if I want to compromise on brightness reduction, would I be able to replace those resistors with, say, 330ohm resistors instead?

I circled what might (???) be the components I need to remove in the screenshot below, but again, I have NO idea what I'm actually looking at lol.

Thank you!
