newer shmups post 2002
Im looking for shmups that are post 2002. Need something to spend a little money on.
Mainly looking for arcade titles and titles for PS2 and XBOX.
I saw a video of Gradius V and that looks awesome. What system is that for? And is Ikaruga only available for Arcade, DC and GC?

There's Espgaluda II too, arcade only.
And isn't Espgaluda from 2003 as well? (PS2)
And DoDonPachi Daioujou from 2003 too (PS2)
And Mushihimesama
And Shikigami no Shiro I, II and III are post 2002 as well (PS2, GC, Arcade, DC...)

There's an excellent Amiga emu on Xbox. Go emulate an amiga and get all warm and fuzzy with masterpieces like Project X, Apidya, Agony, Fantastic Voyage, R-Type, Blood Money, Xenon II, Carcharodon, Dragon Spirit, SWIV, Darius Plus, Saint Dragon, Amnios... you name them! All with that beefy Amiga feel <31up wrote:no shmup love for the xbox?

According to GameFAQs, the game got (or was scheduled to get) a PAL release from Play It! late last year, as "Castle Shikigami 2: War of the Worlds." The US release from about a year earlier ("Castle Shikigami 2", by XS Games) was apparently pretty good, though it had some laughable voice redubbing. I don't recall having heard much about the PAL release, though...did it ever come out?1up wrote:Shikigami No Shiro II is jap only?
To the best of my knowledge, that game is Japan-only. However, the PAL region did apparently get a nice version of "Psyvariar: Complete Edition" on the PS2, which includes both of the previous Psyvariar games (which some prefer to the sequel). And has Psyvarier 2 been released in PAL?

Unfortunately, no. And I was looking forward to finally playing it at the right speed too (as the xbox has this nice PAL60 mode). The PAL PS2 version is complete crap, even compared to the american version (50 Hz, and all story sequences removedBulletMagnet wrote:According to GameFAQs, the game got (or was scheduled to get) a PAL release from Play It! late last year, as "Castle Shikigami 2: War of the Worlds." For a while 505 Gamestreet had the Xbox version of Shikigami no Shiro set for a PAL release as ESP Fighters but it was never released as far as I know.

Yep.diOdesu wrote:shiki I is mobile light force 2 for ps2 right?
To the best of my knowledge, no tate. It lives up to the MLF name.does that version have a tate option or is it like mobile light force 1 (gunbird 1) which annoyingly can not be tate'd.
Nope, it's got all the necessary trimmings, tate (and replay saving, IIRC) included.or is the japanese version of shiki I just as cheap as mobile light force 2?

I've seen Shiki II PAL, but it's 50 Hz only...BulletMagnet wrote:According to GameFAQs, the game got (or was scheduled to get) a PAL release from Play It! late last year, as "Castle Shikigami 2: War of the Worlds." Psyvariar Complete edition has 60 Hz etc. and compiles both medium unit and revision.
505 gamestreet has just released raiden III and Homura.
In general, PAL versions are cheap

SHIKI 1, MLF, also has the single worst cover in all of video game history, even beating out MEGA MAN 1. My God, that CHARLIE'S ANGELS wannabe cover cracks me the hell up!BulletMagnet wrote:Yep.diOdesu wrote:shiki I is mobile light force 2 for ps2 right?
