Anyone in the US of A do PS2 laser replacements or sell PS2s
Years ago, like over a decade lol, there was an awesome shmupper here that sold me a Turbo Duo with a new laser and that still works to this day. Can't remember his name, but wanted to see if anyone else here does that type of work with PS2s?

You can easily do this yourself. Happy to walk you through it on the phone if needed.

I've seen a guide online that didn't seem too bad, but it makes me nervous to make a mistake and brick it. But DIY may end up being my only option.thchardcore wrote:You can easily do this yourself. Happy to walk you through it on the phone if needed.

You can't really brick the system by fooling with the laser unless you start poking a screwdriver on exposed solder points or something reckless.
This is more or less an exercise in mechanical adjustment. A new laser is about $15.
