The Success produced Psyvariar Capture Box set came bundled with the cool Psyvariar Appreciate DVD Vol. 1 superplay -- considering that it's a Region 2 dvd, it plays just fine on a JPN region PS2 console. I had to get the Taito G-Card carts of Psyvariar Medium Unit & Psyvariar Revision with the obligatory Taito G-Net arcade motherboard to play 'em both properly as they were meant to be played. The G-Card cart of Psy-R does save a single superplay run of the final boss showdown for posterity & for viewing at your leisure (and it's removable but why would you want to?). The G-Card of Psy-MU was released in March of 2000 & September of 2000 was the month that the G-Card of Psy-R was released to the Japanese game centers.

I agree about the Psyvariar series in general. I would keep in mind that all of the games on the Complete pack are also available on Psyvariar Delta, which has been essentially ported over to modern consoles and includes that lovely new arrange mode (Delta). So for those interested it's much cheaper to spring for the new release - and you don't even need to play it on some blurry-ass CRT you have tipped over, either 8)
