Hell Yea. Play it all the time on my hacked Vita. the reverse turrets feel great to control. The music and visuals are top tier Genesis IMO. Will get on Switch if the performance is on point.
Used to play it tons on Wii...then I sold my Wii and Nintendo had no account system so it was lost forever. Then they closed down the Wii shop so I couldn't even buy it on Wii U.
I wanted to pick up the original at $250-300, I was kind of balking at the price, and while I was stalling it went through the roof over the last year. Pricecharting says it's going for $7-800 now.
It says that October 15 is the release date. I will definitely look into this if it's true, although I have a real copy and the Columbus Circle thing already.
This is one of those games I don't feel bad just having a repro cart to play it on real hardware. Will def pick up on a modern console if they put it out.
Formerly known as 8 1/2. I return on my second credit!
I'm hoping this means we get a modern port, or at the very least, a ROM/emulator package wrapper so we can play it on modern platforms. Would love a Western licensed repro, similar to what we got with the Toaplan Shooting Collection, but at this point, any legit way to play the game would be nice.
I take it these are western achievement points, so we know that it will actually come stateside.
Will be better than owning it digitally on Wii since there is attachment to an account system on Xbox, and you will actually be able to buy it again since the Wii store has been closed for three years. Hopefully more platforms will follow as the news drips in.
Judging by the achievement list, this looks like a straight emulation of it. Pretty dull achievement list, but when you're working with unchanged code it means you don't have much to work with past things such as having the emulator monitor the scoring register to use for an achievement trigger for the score based achievements and so on.

It has one of the nicest looking main ship sprites in any MD Shmup I feel. I remember playing it eons ago for the first time and thinking that it was nearly as good at Last-Resort's main sprite.
TBH for that price I'll stick it on my soytendo and enjoy it on the go. I doubt the game got 'touched up' in any way. I assume still completely untranslated?
It's on the eshop "coming soon" section now in english with an english trailer. Famed shovelware brand ratalaika are doing the port I guess. Don't expect it to have any extra features or modes if it comes from them.

That would be amazing! This Gleylancer digital release will be a day one buy for me. Yeah, I can play it via flash cart/MiSTer/etc. but to be able to do so legit will be cool. Would also be nice if RetroBit or someone else who has done licensed repros in the past would do a translated cartridge version that is licensed. That would also be an easy buy for me.
