Not sure why people are so appalled by those screenshots. This is basically how every Castle of Shikigami looks.
Still, I don't like how it looks at all. But how did you expect this to look? Don't most modern shmups look like this?

Tohru, Kanna, and Elma will be playable characters, and you can switch to another character to let the first one heal up. Mmmkay...and yet:

Jin Hoshino, a veteran game creator who previously worked on classic shmup titles like Raiden and Caladrius, heads the development team.

So the guy in charge should know what's what.

I'm still puzzled who decided this IP needs to be made into a shmup. I could understand a visual novel easily, and maybe if you reeaaaallllllyyy stretch it, into a fighting game where the combatants can switch between their human and dragon forms, since that actually happens in the series.

I am also not seeing why people are freaking out over some screenshots, and I appreciate the people calling this out. Basically every 3D shmup looks like this... those screenshots look exactly like Raiden 3 or 4.

Very true, but remember that Sisters Royale also has the benefit of playing like one of the best shmups released in the last few years, for those of us that put the time into it.

I am hopeful that the Raiden crew can pull off something good too.

I'm a huge fan of Caladrius Blaze. I think the MOSS crew have a decent chance of making this game good. We won't know until it releases of course, but they've made some good games in the past.
