I hear the PS2 version of Grandia II is buggy and music is skippy or something at times. Same goes for the PC version from what I've read.
I'd recommend getting the DC version of Grandia II and the GC version of Skies of Arcadia. The loading times where horrible in the DC version of Skies.
I think I read that it loads about 20 seconds into the battle while the GC cuts it down to about 5. I don't know the exact time but I can tell you that it is a lot shorter.

Tokyo Xtreme racer 2 (stay away from part 1)
Ferrari F355 Masochisticly hard simulator, it was released in the arcade, but it's an arcade game, as in it's realistic (i guesstimate) and hard as nails, very hard to get into, yet the playability is ace!
Sonic 1 & 2
Tetris 4D, stay away from Tetris online

I suggest you Aerodancing as well. I really enjoyed it, it's fresh, well done and quite entertaining. Also, "arcade simulations" like those are really hard to come by, so there.
I know that F-18 Interceptor on Amiga was immensely superior, but what do I know

Alas, Ikaruga is going...
Undesired, unwanted them...
What makes them go?

i'll keep it simple.
Rez - best game ever (LOL, for me)
EGG - if you like ZeldaLTTP/ActionRPGs, you play as "Egg-like" Robots, great 2D
Record of Lodoss War - err, Anime + Diablo! lol
Cool Cool Toon (it's not named not Cool Cool Music btw) - SNK rhythm/dance game, like their fighters, you need to do complex joystick motions.
POP 'n Music - Amazing rhythm game, needs special controller for good fun
Seaman - novelty.. you can talk to spock!
Zombie's Revenge - HOTD in Beat-em-Up form by Sega (lol)
Evil Twin - gritty gothic adventure game, nice. (PAL only)
Outtrigger - prolly the only FPS game i played seriosly (i liked the Arcade controls better though)
Jet Set Radio - sweetness,..
Sakura Taisen series - VisualNovel+StratRPG, (japan only though)
Sega Rally 2 Champ. - Err, Sega rally
MSGundam Fed vs. Zeon DX - ultra cool Action game.. co-dev. by Capcom.
err.. that's all for now

Typing of the Dead is an excellent choice.
The keyboard can be obtained for 10 bones and the game new is even less. Less than $20 can get you loads of gaming goodness. I felt it was definitely money well spent.
Resident Evil Code Veronica is well done here and could be one of the best Evil's to date. Although if you have PS2, that could be the preferred platform.
Virtual On is good if you have the Twin Sticks, excellent fast paced mech battling. Otherwise it's a bit of a learning curve on regular controller.
Chu Chu Rocket is a neat puzzle game and it's one of the few games I kept coming back to. Definitely better over the GBA port.
Otherwise there are a bevy of other DC games that are recommendable, but most if not all are multi console. Rez, Shenmue 2, CVS2, KOF2000, and TXR2.
Some other favourites; Vampire Chronicle, Street Fighter Alpha 3 & Sega Rally 2.

'Only a fool trusts his life to a weapon.'
Another good game. I suck at racing games, so generally they're not fun for me, but this was fun. I actually felt like I was in the Pod Race.fl0w wrote:EDIT : Star Wars Pod Racer!
I'd also recommend Guantlet Legends. Not sure how everyone here feels about it, but I've had fun. Cannon Spike is fun too if you can pick it up cheap.
It's great if you have friends or great if you like to mindlessly level up (which I do). It's not terribly deep (no rare items or special skills or ANYTHING) but the areas are nice and it plays well enough.FRO wrote:I'd also recommend Guantlet Legends.
