Purchasing games from Microsoft Stores in different regions

Hi, everyone

My last login here was on Tue Dec 11, 2012 9:05 am Glad to see that my account is still active.

I am living in Australia at the moment and I have an Xbox Series X. Unfortunately games such as Dangun Feveron, Battle Garegga and the ACA NEOGEO series are not available on Australia's Xbox Live/Microsoft Store.
What would be the easiest and safest way to download and play games from different regions? Is it necessary to have a VPN or can I simply change the region in the console settings? Do I have to purchase American/Japanese gift cards or can I pay via Paypal (as it converts foreign currency)?
Also, do we have a list of shmups exclusively available in the Japanese MS Store?

You'll just need to create accounts for the other region(s) you want to buy stuff from and get the point cards specific to that region. After you've bought the stuff, just sign the extra account(s) in on the console and choose your console as the home console for that account and then anyone who signs into that console can play the games as if they own it. Pretty simple.
