Thought I would share a tool that I have found indispensable over the last few years. If you switch main monitors often, sound profiles or even what monitors are on and off you are gonna want to check out Monitor Switcher.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/monitorswitcher/
Monitor Switcher allows you to via hotkey change between monitor profiles. It also seems to do a great job of saving correct resolution settings and primary sound device. You also can setup as many profiles as you like I use almost 20. I use at my desktop a 3440x1440 gsync, 2560x1440p, Vert 640x480 and Hori 320x240 x120hz monitor all on the same computer.

Re: Monitor Switcher for Windows
This will be really helpful for me with my streaming setup. I have a big TV I use as one monitor, and a smaller tate monitor I usually use for OBS, but when I play tate shmups, I move OBS over to the TV. Games don't always launch on the screen I want them to go to, so it will be nice to try this, and see if it helps alleviate that.

That's my exact use case and it works perfectly everytime. Do your setup, save the profile and set a hotkey if you want. Change profiles in the tray or via hotkey. It doesn't break obs or interrupt the stream to change primary device. Good luck.
