Bullets disappear

Post by suckysucky »

Which shmups do the bullets disappear after the enemy is destroyed? These type of shmups are easierSh for me since I'm more inexperienced to the genre.

Danmaku Unlimited 3 does this and it's a great shmup for beginners. Bullet Soul is another I think, but I haven't played it.

Try Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu Black Label. There are many enemies that cancel all bullets on screen when destroyed (keep both shot buttons pressed). You will love it! The problem is you have to survive until that happends :)

The boss or the enemy.
For the boss it should always be so you can not die when you won.
Some games place shield, others let you die and beat the boss again.

One of the 360 arrange modes for Espgaluda 2 cancels bullets every time you change mode. I remember going through one of the boss fights just by mashing the button lol.

Snes Raiden Trad is hilarious that way. Kill the boss, and you immediately go on auto-pilot to the center of the screen. But the bullets are still there and can still hit you, when you have no control.

Thank you all for the responses. I just purchased Danmaku unlimited 3 for the switch. Going to give that a try later today.

Ring-²⁷ has something sort of like this in Anchor mode, where un-anchoring an enemy will cancel the bullets. You can sometimes get away with cheesing some sections by mashing the anchor button, but it will drive up rank, and I find that I still often die when trying to do this

On the Mars Matrix stage 3 boss, there will sometimes (not sure what causes it) be bullets remaining on screen after you defeat the boss, but I don't think you ever lose control of your ship, at least, so you just need to watch out for it.
