Sony GDM-FW900 Color Problems

Post by wwse »

I bought a Sony GDM-FW900 monitor. It works, but something with color rendition (see screenshot).
I connect to laptops:
1. Acer with Intel HD4600
2. Acer with Intel HD (Pentium B960)

This a problem with my laptops? There is no way to check on other equipment yet.
Is there any way to fix this?
Thank you

might be a tube damaged in transit. Your first step is very likely to get a degaussing wand and see how the tube reacts to that.

thanks for the answer. I also came to the conclusion that the problem is in the demagnetization loop.
Luckily crt TVs are still popular in my country and there are quite a few repairmen available. I'll try to contact one of them.

You can adjust the corner colors in the user menu, but this looks more like the yoke has shifted. Still though it's worth degaussing of course.

the manual demagnetizer did not help.

I tried to make spots on the screen using an ordinary magnet - they are easily removed by the built-in degauss function

I tried to adjust the corner colors in the Landing Menu, but I didn't like the result.

it helped much better to attach 4 small magnets to the edges of the screen.

if the yoke has shifted, how to turn it - left, right or forward and backward?

could this be a consequence of damage to the Aquadag? when i cleaned the monitor maybe i wiped it off a little with an alcohol wipe ...
