I guess I will. I would love for G.Rev to say whether or not its region locked or not before hand though... buying games I cannot play is not something I'm really into.

What are the odds of a conversion?
Don't tell me I have to mod my X360 to play it :|
I wanted to have a non-modded console for a change but it seems like it's impossible. Thanks Sony for its $600 behemoth with no region code :D
Alas, Ikaruga is going...

Undesired, unwanted them...
What makes them go?

I'll be preordering it. Even though I have the Japanese system, I hope for Xbox Live's sake that G.Rev did NOT region lock it.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

This Japan region version is virtually guaranteed to be region-locked to JP 360 consoles only, as I believe 100% of JP region games have been so far.

We can only hope that a region-free Asia region edition of the game possibly comes out.

With the high overheating failure rate of early model 360 consoles, importing a JP model 360 is a bit of a risky proposition.

I prefer to wait in getting Senko No Ronde Rev., in previoud history XBox doesn't hold any exclusive shmups game. I think there is a large chance that Senko No Ronde would be released on another platform later. :o

Still wishing to get a DC version....

Since in Japan the userbase of people with DCs is 100 times* the number of people with 360s, maybe G-Rev will have a change of heart after realizing how few copies of Senko no Ronde they can sell for 360 in Japan.

*Pure guesswork, 2 Million DCs were sold worldwide

Just over 10 Million DC's were sold worldwide.

I'll buy this if its region free but I'd rather have a DC version of the newest Naomi incarnation.

Yes, you are right, it's 10 Million worldwide, not 2.

Dudes, Microsoft is publishing the game, not GRev. Most likely, GRev was paid a fixed sum to make the game, so they can't just port it over to any other console. Microsoft wants exclusives... ports just ain't happening.

I am not pre-ordering, but by July I'll be in Japan and I guess I'll pick one up.

What's this about an LE?

Thank you for clearing that up. I was wondering wether or not Microsoft were the ones publishing, and if so, had they footed the bill for the port.

Seems that way.

However, SNR:RX is loosely based on SNR:SP, right? What's wrong with releasing a DC version with SNR and SNR:NV on a GD-ROM? The X-Box 360 version still retains XBL play as well as wide-screen presentation. But that may simply be semantics to Microsoft.

This was clarified earlier in another thread. The LE version comes with a radio drama CD.

If I knew for certain that it was region free, I'd pre-order it.

If it's in the shops when I go to pick up my 360 and Shutokou Battle X, then I'll probably buy it. No plans on pre-ordering, though.

Well i dont have a 360 yet, but I suppose eventually I will... I think if the extras in the LE look like they're worth it then I'll order one and keep it until I get the console. Otherwise I'll wait til I actually get the console first.

But if Microsoft is publishing, wouldn't they have a vested interest in releasing the game to the widest possible audience? While I will continue to watch its region status, I would hope for a stateside release. It's not likely, but then again its not that far-fetched, either.

No indication of that so far--only speculation. I would gladly take a DC release, as well. :D

Do what I did.

Go to G-revs site, theres a customer feedback form. Fill it in. Say you'd buy it if it was region free. They may ignore it, they may not care, but 5 minutes of your time isn't much to spend /trying/ to guide them to the right decision.

Good suggestion.
I just went ahead and did just that.

I sent an email inquiring whether or not it would be region free (by this point I would think that they would already know).

I'll fill out the feedback as well. I really hope I'm playing this game in 2 months!!!!

Thank you for the tip! I'll do just that. A DC version would be absolutely sweet...

Go to google, and search for 'google translate' - you'll find the google service there. You can either translated pasted sections of text, or feed it the URL to get a full page translation. You can just fill that in and submit.

I know bloodflowers already covered this in essence, but here's a step-by-step guide that all beginners can follow:

1. Go to http://www.grev.co.jp/mailform.htm

2. In the top box, enter your name or nickname (required)

3. In the second box, enter your email address (required)

4. Next, the choices in the form's drop-down menu are (roughly, in order) "Game feedback", "Contribute to G.rev newsletter", and "Other". Probably best to leave this drop-down on the default "Game feedback".

5. Finally in the main text entry box below that, leave your short comment using simple english sentences (don't assume they can understand complex english sentences). Or if you want to risk it, post your request in japanese using an english-to-japanese autotranslator.

As an example, I just put a simple message in english:
I am an international G.rev fan outside Japan.

I promise I will buy your Xbox360 "SENKO NO RONDE REV.X" if you make a "Region-Free" version soon.

Please make a "Region-Free" version for America and Europe fans.

Sincerely,

"An international G.rev fan from http://forum.shmups.com"
(I just quickly wrote this out, so somebody correct me if there's any error in these instructions.)

That would be nice, especially since I don't plan on purchasing a 360 anytime soon. :(

So have G.rev ruled out a DC port or have they not commented yet?
