Want to Write about the Genesis?

Post by Melf »

After nearly two years, Sega-16 is finally getting a staff. We’re a relaxed enthusiast site, but it’s time we kicked things up a notch. There is currently space for 2-3 talented and passionate individuals who are willing to write about the Sega Genesis and its add-ons. Staffers are required to write between 2-3 reviews a month (only games not yet reviewed please), as well as 2-3 articles on any Genesis-related topic (check our Features page for plenty of examples).

The process is simple: Just send one-paragraph email detailing why you’d like to write for the site, along with a sample of your writing. If you’re among the chosen, you’ll hear back from us with a long, ranting email written all in bold and caps. Ok, scratch that last part, but you’ll definitely hear from us!

Send all submissions to ken@sega-16.com. The deadline is Saturday, June 10, so get cracking!

Eh, don't worry - from a reader's viewpoint, that's almost better
By the way, I appreciated many features on your page, the "BO" retrospective comes to mind. Keep up like this, it shows the passion!

Are you going to eventually allow games to have more than one review? That Moonwalker one... :(

Hey Melf,

I'm very interested in writing about the Genesis. What should I write about?

Nope. 1 review for every game. Trust me, I don't agree with all the scores either (the Super Thunderblade one particularly makes me cringe), but the writer makes the call.

We accept reviews for all games not already covered, as well as articles on anything Genesis-related. If you'd like to try out for staff, just follow the guidelines in the initial post here and submit a sample. :)

Count Me In, i'll be sending the requirements throughout the week, i love your site btw, one of my favorites...

PS - i think i registered for you forums, but sadly i dont really post that much...

PPS - the sample review should be a MD/MCD/32X game right? (cuz i have others, for other consoles/platforms)

We only cover Gen/Sega CD/32X on the site, but the writing sample you send in can be on anything from any console. It's just to give me an idea of your skills.

I look forward to your submission! :)
