Best PS3/PS4 to Xbox 360 adapter?

So I recently purchased a Hori RAP4 premium VLX arcade stick, if you dont know this controller, it’s essentially a replica of the deck on a Taito Viewlex arcade cabinet. It’s a beautiful piece of gear and I use it on PC frequently even though its a PS3/PS4 variant (uses a switch). I’m wondering the best way to get this running on my xbox360, for all those great Cave shmups. It looks like there was a high quality adapter released by Brook in an extremely small quantity, during evo 2016, but I haven’t been able to find something that’s decent besides that one. What are my best options here? Does anyone have experience with PS3/PS4 adapters or other multi adapters in general?

Is this a good option? Do you have experience with it? Is it hard to install?

Everyone loves the Brook UFB over at SRK, and the "EZ Mod" kits are supposed to be, well, easy. It looks like they're completely reversible too.

I don't have experience installing it though. And it looks like you lose turbo...

Yeah I gave it a look and it seems to be just what I need, and fairly simple to set up. Seems you lose a few functions like turbo and RS switching, but I think I can manage without those for my type of usage.

Ok I've just ordered the above mentioned mod for my fight stick and it should meet most of my needs. But I'm wondering if there's any good option to also get it working with a Dreamcast? Does anyone really use modern fight sticks like this?

I use a PS360+ for Dreamcast support, and I've never had any real problems (with the Dreamcast part). The only downside I've run into is that some games are pickier about which controller port has the VMU. Normally I just stick a standard controller with the VMU into port 2 and play with my stick in port 1 (or vice versa if the game expects the VMU in slot 1). I can't remember which games, but I remember for a game or two I had to just disable auto saving and swap controllers whenever I wanted to save. It's not a huge deal though, and doesn't affect too many games.

Damn this seems like a good option, but is almost impossible to find at the moment. Also having just ordered that other board i dont know if it would be worth it to invest in another custom setup, although i do have another stick i could plop it in, just for DC games. Does anyone know somewhere that carries this board or is it just completely discontinued?

No problem man lol, I’ll keep an eye out for it either way. I like the idea of swapable cables that use the RJ45 port, p cool stuff. Hopefully I can find my DC solution haha.

Ok so i’ve installed my brook UFB into my hori VLX, but I’m having some issues with button detection. When i put it in xbox360 mode on pc, the joystick works and the start button works, but only the rb and lt work which I believe are the 4P and 3K buttons according to brooks mapping’s here: http://www.brookaccessory.com/detail/06960737/
None of the other main buttons are working properly and cant even be changed in games configuration settings.

When i tested it on my xbox360 its the exact same issue, same buttons working, same not.

I followed the instructions that can be found at the bottom of the page and I’ve also updated to the newest firmware, so I know it’s at least working connectivity wise:

Is there anything I’m missing? could I have just installed it incorrectly? its p straight forward with just ribbon cables and pin headers, then you just connect the original button harness. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I've installed the EZ Mod for my VLX (the haybusa one - red and black) and also installed it for my friends VLX (the kuro on - all black) and these things work like a dream.

They're a little expensive, but it's the only real way of being able to get your VLX back to stock without any mods and it's the cleanest and provides the most compatibility to previous and current consoles in the one board.

I highly recommend it if you can fathom the pricey expense.

+1 for the Wingman XB, it seems to have very low input lag, I have been unable to measure difference with iPhone 240fps shooting. I tried to test this by plugging my HRAP V kai through it in xone mode vs directly in 360 mode to my Xbox 360.
