Could you take your father down if you had to?

Post by neorichieb1971 »

This is just a  thread.

I'll start.

No, I am 34 and my dad is 60, but due to his career in brick work and mine in computers, he would break me in two. So for me, I'd run like hell.

I would not have to take him down, the booze does that every single day...

Me: 135 lbs. Dad: needless to say, I weigh 135 lbs. and haven't done a hard day's work ever.

Fair match: me vs. my sister.

I'm a bit taller than him but he still calls me the little one :)
To answer the question though I think we'll be about the same if we ever did get in a serious fight. On all other occasions he wins though, just because he is my dad.

Family toughness hierarchy:

I can't imagine getting into a fight with/hurting my Dad.

He and I are like this.

On the other hand, my Mom could use a good smack from time to time.

this would have been a good question to ask if nearly all of the posters in this forum were the age of 6-10, whom probably have dads who aren't dealing with as many health problems as ours

Yeah, I think I could kick the shit out of my dad at this point. He's had at least one heart attack, and all kinds of other shit though, and is approaching 70. He's no small man though.

I guess I could, but just because he's almost blind. If he could see, well, probably I still could if I managed to beat him to the ground :D

I was adopted and so have a different build from my dad-- I've always been a bit bigger, stronger, and faster. But he's a seriously tough dude. He ran five marathons back in the day. Waaay more endurance than I have, even now that he's in his 60s.

The question for me is "when are you going to take down your dad?"

Not soon enough, but it's coming at some point. He was green beret but I think I can take him if I start hitting the bag more often.

I did it when I was sixteen. I moved out the following week. He died of complications from his fifth heart attack six weeks later.

Not proud.

I don't care what anyone says, if your mom can put wrestling holds on you and even use "pressure points" there is no amount of brute strength that can win.

My mom is the reigning champion of our family by far.

my dad is not strong, but he is tall and long-limbed, so i would need to think of some strategy to avoid his long reach. i think he would easily be a tough opponent though. dhalsim off streetfighter  but hes not asian :?

When my dad was healthy, I'd never would have messed with him, he'd have killed me. When he was drunk he wasn't a man to mess with either as he had a 12 gauge shotgun and deadly accuracy with a weapon.

Much respect to my dad though (*thumbs up*), as for my mom pfft.

Yeah but I'd hate to do it, Guys been tough on me but I needed a bit of discipline.

More interested in fighting my brother full contact, never been able to beat his clinch/holds, despite my strength advantage.

Considering my dad was some sort of wrestling champion in texas in his college days, there be NO CHANCE. He is getting up there in years though.

Man Pa you have been through some serious shit. No need to be ashamed, it's pretty inspiring someone can go through all that and still be a decent human being.

Mine just turned 55, he's got his faults as a person but he's smarter and stronger than I am  the ol' bastard.
