Hi all,
I'm working on an original Xbox and heard you all are probably the best resource to find some info. The Xbox will seem to open the disk drive tray once after long periods of time, unplugged, then it seems to try again but no luck. It also wouldn't read the disk.
I took the console apart and cleaned out some dust and inspected the capacitors. I see that the trimmer pot looks like it worked too hard on threw up on itself. I've done some searching but no luck on finding how to identify the range or any other properties that are important to replacing the pot. Does anyone know the specs for this thing by chance? Anything I may need to also check since I haven't seen this before (in my limited experience in recapping/fixing about 12 consoles so far)

That's just glue to prevent you from adjusting the pot.retrofit wrote:Hi all,

OG Xbox CD drives fail very often. Normally you can clean the lens and pickup a new drive belt for a couple bucks shipped off eBay and it'll work again. If not I'm pretty sure I've read on the OGX FB group that you can still buy replacement drives easy enough (unlike some other consoles...).
