I haven't gotten the chance to d/l this "Project Starfighter 1.1ver" for 1.50 firmware PSP handhelds yet. Please let me know of your thoughts on this game. I'm not the creator of this homebrew PSP shmup game anyways.
Here's the link to d/l to your 1.5 firmware PSP:

Ok, I d/l this so-called Project: Starfighter PSP shmup...
Upon d/l of this little ditty of a PSP homebrew game called "Project: Starfighter version 1.1, it does have some shmup elements but it really doesn't qualify as a "true" shmup -- it's more in the same vein as Williams' Defender/Stargate arcade classics mixed with some gameplay elements borrowed from Williams' Sinistar arcade classic such as shooting the enemies that upon destruction, release different colored asteroids for the player to pick up to "power-up" his or her spacecraft (the Sinistar arcade game does exist as in both upright & deluxe sitdown cabinet versions with 49-way directional joystick and was released in 1982).
This PSP Project: Starfighter is based on the original SDK version of the same name for the PC platform. The guy who coded the PSP version of NoiZsa did the PSP conversion of Project: Starfighter. One can choose from PSP firmware versions of 1.0 & 1.5 for their respective firmware enabled PSP handheld.
When I viewed the "ending credits" of the PSP Project: Starfighter v1.1 homebrew game, a lot of the BGM tunes are from the 1995-1996 era. One might recognize some of them. There really aren't that many semi-professional developed PSP homebrew shmups with the exception of PSP rRootage v0.4 & PSP NoiZsa v0.6 (which already have PC ports that they're based on).
This PSP homebrew game of Project: Starfighter does crash sometimes on a 1.5 firmware PSP...needs to be further developed to be bug free from crashing often.
