Extron RGB 201 Rxi and BVM discoloring problem

Post by Cavia »

Hey guys,

I'm encountering some problems with my setup, and I wanted to know if anyone knows already a solution for them.

My current setup is the following:
NeoGeo MVS -> Extron RGB 201 Rxi -> BVM 20F1E or BVM 14E1E or PVM 2042QM.

Now, every time I use the ADSP (for image shift controls) on the Extron RGB interface, I get a non-trivial discoloring on the BVMs (darkening of colors everywhere, mostly in large bands). Note that, this very problem does not appear on the PVM (with ADPS on) and it disappears completely also on the BVMs if the DDSP is activated on the Extron.
Clearly, the direct connection [NeoGeo MVS -> any monitor] returns a crystal clear image. It looks like a problem with the sync after it gets processed by the ADPS.

After doing some search, I found that a possible solution for this phenomena is to adjust the "CLP P DLY" value on the BVM settings (located in the maintenance submenu). But here, I found another interesting problem (also previously discussed on this forum viewtopic.php?f=6&t=63600): the "CLP P DLY" is fixed on all my BVMs to 128, and there is no way to change it (the value turns from white to yellow, but there is no way to change the value).
In all the posts suggesting the "CLP P DLY" fix, they always refer to monitor such as BVM D models or 20L5 models (in general monitors with 480p+ support). I'm wondering if, in previous BVMs, this setting was unchangeable.
As an additional info, the remaining DPswitches (2-7) on my Extron are all set to OFF. In particular, the SERR switch does not improve the coloring.

Please, let me know if you already encountered this problem and/or if there is a way to fix it.
Thanks!
