Was browsing the new games selection on Smile Basic 4 ver. 4.4.2 running on the Switch platform and came across a brand new STG title by the name of Gunnard Silverwing by famed developer Yukisoft.
Note: you'll need to buy a one-time "Server Ticket" in order to d/l any SB4 game/app/demo to your Switch (which is a mere $5.00 USD).
Gunnard Silverwing as of 11/17/2020 is listed at version 0.1 and plays like those old-school Compile Caravan STGs on the classic PC Engine platform except without a timer to contend with + three lives are given at the start of a serious session of GS indeed.
Makes me wonder what new updates will be added to GS in the nearby future.
---------------------------------
Some other SB4 STG titles worth d/l'ing are:
Reflection Force aka Project Reflect Edge 2 -- version 1.0.4 with 60fps framerate & cool Psyvariar themed fonts
Solid Gunner Vertika
Givers P3D -- dev Bugtaro's slick low-res 3D polygonal STG
Solid Soldier Collection
Solid Soldier
Kyu Sen Kai
Sonic Strikers
TriBullet
FuraFura Torpedo
Shot 180 -- plays like the classic Compile Caravan STGs on the PCE + countdown timer to contend with
Q OOGiri4
Q Gaswitch -- plays like Namco's classic Galaplus/Galaga 3 arcade pcb
Cyburst -- cool abstract STG with solid 60fps framerate
Petitsy Zone II -- by famed dev kt.software that pays homage to Sega's classic Fanasty Zone STG title + 60fps framerate
Reflection Force is one of the better professionally developed & visually stylized STG titles running on the current SB4 engine rev 4.4.2 for the Switch platform + even includes vibrational functionality (which can be disabled if so desired). How cool is that?
FYI: most of the SB4 STG titles do save your high scores (and high score initials where applicable) if you save at the saving screen prompts.
PC Engine Fan X! ^_~
