Question on the xbox 360 hard drive

Post by ryosnk »

I received a xbox 360 for my birthday (thank you WIFE :) ) and I noticed that it only has 12gb of space available in the harddrive, I thougt it was suppose to be 20gb. Did I get a defect or is this the norm? Thanks.

A load of it is reserved for patches, backwards compat updates, game saves and so on. The 12gb is for your music, arcade games and downloaded demos/trailers. Poke around, IIRC it comes with some crap already on there too that you can delete. Don't delete Hexic though, or you'll never get it back.

To be honest I think it was too small, a 40gb would have been much better and cost not much more.

Just be happy you got the bling-bling model and not the core system....

I'm pretty sure someone will make a modchip that'll let you use a bigger harddrive someday.
