Yeah, it's been known for months that the drive's firmware is unprotected. It was just a matter of time before someone put it to practical use.

That's pretty sad, yeah? I mean, the console should have at leaast sold over 5 million by now. It's funny when you see the japanese sales charts and the DS is selling more and more units yet the other "higher technology" products are failing miserably.

Perhaps if it were more centered on japan, it would sell better.

You know, I like console wars as much as the next guy. It's especially funny when a new geneeration hits the market. But that doesn't mean I want to see them in EVERY goddamn thread.

There were some supply issues until just recently. Had more 360's been in the retail channel these last few months, I'm certain you'd be seeing 5 million or more sold by now.

That is pretty funny, only 2852 X-Box 360s. How many were sold in Japan since launch? Is it even worth making localized games at this rate?

G-Rev should really rethink their bringing Senko no Ronde to 360 instead of DC...

People won't buy the system without the games, someone has to make a first move, and obviously that someone has to be the companies involved. It's clear that Microsoft should probably not try to claim they're being successful in that market

Now if they were really clever, they'd be marketing their system under a Japanese fronting company over there. I don't think they'd have nearly as much trouble. Seriously.

As for Senko, it looks like utter garbage anyway. However, even if it was great, shooters/variants only sell in the mid thousands anyway to the hardcore gamers, I really don't think it'll affect their sales at all.

olo all these threads are pretty funny. If you want a japanese centric console just get a japanese ps2 or a japanese wii when it comes out. I'll be buying a 360 when forza 2 comes out since its the best system for driving games and halo.

You're entitled to your opinion. And I sure love to read the interactive novels.

I think the problem MS is facing in Japan is: We don't really care about western games, not just the FPS genre alone. Even back in the days when fighting games were the hottest thing in the arcades, we didn't know what the hell Mortal Kombat was.
