Neo Geo MV-1C video output voltage?
I recently got a really cool consolized kit for Neo Geo MV1C boards that uses SNES controllers:
https://www.tindie.com/products/chipnet ... herboards/
It works great, but the video seems hot. Is this similar to how dreamcast VGA seems to be overdriven?
Does anyone know the standard output voltage of a MV1C, and what it needs to be tamped down by to get it within spec? Thanks!

Re: Neo Geo MV-1C video output voltage?
dreamcast isn't "that" overdriven. The real problem with dreamcast is the voltages not linear 0-100IRE.HDgaming42 wrote:I recently got a really cool consolized kit for Neo Geo MV1C boards that uses SNES controllers:

To get the best possible video output you need our VGA16 scan-doubler or RGB16 video amplifier board. They are all optimized for the Neo Geo with impedance matching outputs.

What do you mean the output seems hot? Whats the peak to peak voltage on a full white screen?
Re: Neo Geo MV-1C video output voltage?
It has only 220uf caps on the RGB lines.

Is there a way I could determine this without dropping $400 on an oscilloscope? (the picture isn't of mine).Josh128 wrote:What do you mean the output seems hot? Whats the peak to peak voltage on a full white screen?

The RGB16 looks very interesting. Can't wait until it's out and has some reviews!beharius wrote:To get the best possible video output you need our VGA16 scan-doubler or RGB16 video amplifier board. They are all optimized for the Neo Geo with impedance matching outputs.

I have 2 MV1Cs and measured the RGB output into 10K ohm loads. I got R/G/B peaks of 3.46/3.48/3.48V on one unit and 3.46/3.47/3.47V on the other. To get 0.7V a voltage divider of 7.87K/2K should do the trick.

Nice, thanks for the info. I believe that most if not all JAMMA arcade boards use this TTL level RGB output.

Thanks so much for taking the time to test this and post the results! Saves me buying an oscilloscope!L-Train wrote:I have 2 MV1Cs and measured the RGB output into 10K ohm loads.
