Vanguard Ace- Does anybody know about this obscure shmup?

Greetings, shmupping community.

I was browsing at the local videogames store and I discovered something interesting in the used games pile. A PC-based shmup named Vanguard Ace, published in 2000 by Midas Interactive Entertainment (according to gamefaqs).

Before buying this obscure piece of software I tried to find some info about it. Unfortunately, not a single world on shmups.com. Shootthecore.com doesn't seem to know about it either. A search about it on this forum was fruitless, and google only offered cheat codes pages (not a single screenshot).

So, I ask: did anybody played this game? Is it worth picking up? Or does it suck so bad that I should run for my life the next time I bump into it?
