(I think this is the right board for this, but please let me know if I've considered incorrectly)
Used the extra free time over the last few months to finally finish off my home cabinet setup, complete with tate-able screen. Put together 2p controls out of Sanwa buttons connected to a Xinmotek dual control board. Works well enough, since the cab is primarily backed by MAME at the moment, and Xinmotek conforms to the DirectInput spec.
However, I have a JP Xbox360 and a Switch that both are great shmup platforms as well. I'd love to find a way to hook the controls up to them too, so I can play console-only shmups and SDOJ. Does anyone know what the best way to go about this is? I've seen adapters out there, but most are for doing things like converting PS4 sticks to Xbox, and vice versa. I don't mind having to re-wire my controls to accomplish this, but I'd love to get something universal going.

I don't personally have one, but I think the Brook Retro Board is pretty much what you're looking for; that will let you wire up arcade controls to a number of different consoles. They might have a different product for the newest consoles, though.

Thanks! I grabbed their universal board, it seems to work with X360, Switch, and PS4, which is exactly what I want.
