Alright...
I have a pal N64 here with an ultra hdmi mod in it. Been enjoying the clean signal for quite some time now. Recently I aquired a N64dd from Japan. Logically... it does not work with my N64. I mean... once connected my pal games still work, but the 64dd is a no go on this machine.
I wanted to enjoy my 64dd games through the ultra hdmi.
Is it an option to wait/search for Otakus N64 v2 region mod? I believe they desolder the pif and install it on a seperate board with an ntsc pif already on it. Supposed to be switchless.
Since there is so few documentation on 64dd I couldn't find if this would be a viable solution to my problem.
Thought maybe someone in here could give me some advice as to whether this will work.

What, exactly, is it not doing that you're expecting it to? My limited understanding is that the 64DD isn't region-locked per se, and that it works fine with North American N64s; though I haven't heard anything specifically about its use with PAL units.unstablewarpfield wrote:Logically... it does not work with my N64. Re: Ultra HDMI in pal N64 with region mod
Well... when I connect it to my pal hdmi modded N64 it doesn't do anything. When I connect it to a stock Japanese N64 it works fine.
What I want is it to work on my pal N64 and I'm wondering if a region mod like otakus or the ultrapif would make the 64dd work on my pal N64, and also keep my ultrahdmi working. That's it in a nutshell...
