Super Princess Peach

Post by jp »

This game fucking rocks. I love how they brought back all kinds of enemies from SMB3 and SMW that I figured were long lost. Boos are back! Dry bones is back! The fishing ghosts are back! The cool pirahna plant variations are back!!! Quite awesome.

Also, if it wasn't for the infinite lives thing, this game would be decently challenging. Its not the "stupid easy walk in the park" most people have made it out to be. Lots of parallax in it too! Very pretty game. I would highly recommend it.

Edit:
I'm in World 3, the haunted house world.

I've heard too many people say they loved it at first, got bored about halfway through and then never felt like playing it again once it was beaten. I think I'll wait a bit longer to pick this one up.

I got it, but haven't tried it yet.
Tonight... I've gotta finally try it out.

Heh, I just bought this for my DS this week, and I've found it to be quite enjoyable. It is a bit on the easy side tho (but then again, what Mario game isn't), but it is quite nostalgic to see a lot of old enemies reappear, and lots of variations on classic characters.

Peach is well animated, and the game is quite endearing. It'll be fun looking for all the secrets, at least.

... Yes, I have been corrupted by the sugary-sweet world of Peach. ^_^;;

(Makes a fun diversion while I wait for the new Mario on DS, as well as Yoshi's Island 2, which looks ace.)

This game is way too easy. Like you-can-complete-this-thing-in-a-single-night easy.

But nevertheless, fun while it lasts. I expected to see more out of a game which had one of Mario's crew take the lead role, but apparently not. With all the stuff Nintendo have been doing recently I can understand why some games aren't getting as much attention as others.

Excluding the Japanese SMB2... what Nintendo platformer isn't?

I have a few GBA platformers which are really hard. Somewhere laying about, I have SBM3 and can't get through it. Then again, this is the version for GBA, and I'm playing it on my DS with it's super small clicky buttons, so let's just blame that, shall we?

I couldn't sit through Paper Mario in one setting, or it's sequel. Or Donkey Konga's Jungle Beat. So there are some, but I guess it depends on how infatuated with the game you really are.

You might be able to 'beat' SMW in a fashion in one sitting, but good luck ACTUALLY beating it. That's where the real replay value comes in in the Mario series. (Except of course for Lost Levels, which was hard as nails!)

It's pretty fun "beating" SMW in under an hour by taking the Star Road shortcuts. I laughed the first time I saw the "Back Door."
